In another time
Leaves were grey
Flowers a muted shade of red
The ocean deep black
Calling to me
Every sunset was broken glass

I’ll paint a picture for you
Show you just how much I love you
Empty space when you turn my canvas
But my blood stains every paintbrush

It seems the world is black and white
And color only comes when I close my eyes
I obsess over every hue of you
Trying to mix anything and everything
To show you my world in color
But the best I can do
Is see it all in shades of blue
